Privacy Policy & Disclaimer

If you have any questions, please contact KPERS.

The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) is a state agency that administers retirement benefits for employees of the State of Kansas. The KPERS website is intended as an information resource and medium of communication for members and visitors. The privacy of its members is a priority for KPERS personnel and staff.

Personal Information

KPERS does not collect or track individually identifiable information directly through its website. The sole exception is when individuals provide personal information via electronic mail message or request forms for purposes of soliciting a response from KPERS personnel. Generic information from server logs may be used to track the number of hits to the site, the types of browser software used, and the routes through the site taken by visitors. This information is used solely for analyzing the overall use of the website for the purpose of improving service to our members.

Email Requests

Visitors and members should be cautious when sending email containing sensitive and confidential information. Email should not be considered secure. For maximum security, if visitors are emailing about a specific account, include only the member's name and the last four digits of the member’s Social Security number. As an alternative, visitors should consider sending requests and questions by postal mail.

Benefit Calculators Disclaimer

Benefit calculators are designed to give only an estimate of a member’s benefit. Benefit calculators are not linked to member data files. The calculators estimate benefits solely on information entered. The accuracy of an estimate depends on the accuracy of information entered. Members should not make decisions based on this estimate alone. All information should be confirmed with KPERS before selecting a retirement option. Members planning to retire should request a written estimate from KPERS by completing and submitting a Retirement Benefit Estimate Request form (KPERS-15E).

Accuracy of Information

The KPERS website is intended as an information resource and medium of communication for members. KPERS makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information on the website is complete, accurate and timely. KPERS makes no express or implied warranty regarding such information or data, and disclaims liability to persons or entities who rely solely on information or data that is available through this website. KPERS personnel are available for questions and requests. Members or visitors may request information directly from KPERS personnel at any time by email or submitting a request form.

Use of Information

The information available on this website is not intended to constitute, and should not be considered, legal advice, nor is it intended to substitute for obtaining legal advice from independent legal counsel.

The content of this website is not designed or intended to provide authoritative financial, accounting, investment, or other professional advice. If expert assistance is required, the services of a qualified professional should be sought.

KPERS does not endorse any of the products, vendors, consultants, or outside documentation referenced in this website. Any mention of vendors, products, or services is for informational purposes only.

This privacy policy is in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other policies found on pages, applications or programs within this site.
