Corrections to KPERS Papers: Active Member Issue
- In the article,
"Long-Term Gains Through Short-Term Losses" in the August 2001 Active
Member Issue of KPERS Papers, the fiscal year end return was stated
incorrectly. The article stated that the System's investment portfolio
declined by 8.4 percent for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001.
The System's investment portfolio actually declined by 7.3 percent
during that period.
- In the article,
"Why Service Credit Counts" in the August 2001 Active Member Issue
of KPERS Papers, there is an incorrect statement. In the paragraph
on Purchasing Service Credit, the article in the printed version stated:
"Various types of public service (both in state non-federal public
service and out of state federal public service) can be purchased,
as well as military service." It should not have said
that out of state federal public service may be purchased. It
should have said that out of state non-federal public service
may be purchased.
Both of these misstatements have been corrected in the
on-line version of this issue. KPERS is sorry if these misstatements
have caused any inconvenience or misunderstanding.
