Each fall, KPERS has workshops across the state for designated agents. These workshops cover any new benefit information and provide a refresher course for KPERS topics. Our 2006 designated agent workshops will begin October 3. Check the enclosed schedule for the location nearest you.
Each workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m. Some of the topics we will cover are:
Morning Session
- Membership
- Personalized information regarding enrollment
- Beneficiary/legislative changes
- Purchase of service/legislative changes
- Disability
- Optional Group Life Insurance rate changes and portability benefit addition
Afternoon Session
Reporting
- Web reporting changes
- How do I complete my annual report?
- How do I report errors and which KPERS-17 form do I use?
- Electronic funds transfer changes
- Verification of most recent contribution reporting (retirement)
- Working after retirement reporting/legislative changes
- Information regarding our new employer web portal (you won’t want to miss this)
It’s Important to Pre-Register
Enclosed you will find a list of workshop locations with a registration form. You can also register by e-mailing kpers@kpers.org or calling our toll-free number at (888) 275-5737. Please provide the information listed on the registration form. If you pre-register, you will receive employer-specific information at your workshop pertaining to your KPERS members. You may review and correct any errors prior to your annual reporting. In addition, seating is limited at certain locations. Please register to ensure we will have enough seating for everyone.
